Global Warming: The Heat is On

Program #GELR001. Recorded in Portland, OR on May 04, 1998.

The first six months of 1998 were the hottest ever recorded, and July was the hottest month ever. Heat waves, floods and droughts are occurring all over the globe. Evidence piles up documenting global warming, yet in the U.S., there is denial and resistance. It's fueled by a $2-trillion-a-year coal and oil industry-sponsored PR campaign.

Speaker(s):

Ross Gelbspan

Ross Gelbspan, a Pulitzer Prize-winner, writes about environmental issues for major newspapers and magazines. He is the author of The Heat is On.
