Political Correctness and multiculturalism are volatile and controversial issues in the United State. In this lecture, Ehrenreich uncovers the lies and half-truths to expose the racism, sexism, and homophobia that inform and underlie much of the usage. Widespread use of the terms political correctness and politically correct began when it was adopted as a pejorative term by the political right in the late 1980s. They were invoked to discredit gains made by women and minorities.
