Feminism in the '90s
Program #EHRB003. Recorded in Montreal, QU on December 07, 1993.
Speaking before a university audience in Montreal, Barbara Ehrenreich talks about feminism in the U.S., how it is perceived abroad, and what a just and humane vision for a new feminism might look like. According to her thesis, we are now in a post-patriarchal society in which the power of men over women in the family is diminishing. But this is not the same as women's liberation. Realities and attitudes are changing, but we need an agenda that brings both freedom and security, not one or the other--for women and for men.
