Workers in a Lean World

Program #MOOK001. Recorded in New York, NY on November 14, 1997.

After years of reversals and setbacks, labor scored major victories with the successful UPS strike and the organization of workers at US Air. Abroad, workers in Canada, France, Korea and elsewhere are resisting the imposition of the neoliberal economic agenda encoded under the rubric of "globalization." How workers respond internationally to sweeping changes like downsizing, temporary work and offshore production will do much to shape the future of the global economy.

Speaker(s):

Kim Moody

Kim Moody writes on labor issues and directs the Detroit-based Labor Notes. He is the author of An Injury to One and Workers in a Lean World.
