Daniel Berrigan

Daniel J. Berrigan was an American Catholic priest, committed peace activist, and poet. In 1968 he and his brother, Philip, were put on the FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list for their involvement in antiwar protests during the Vietnam war. In and out of jail for direct political action, he once said, “The day after I’m embalmed, that’s when I’ll give it up.” He passed away at the age of 94 in 2016.
