Elaine Briere

Elaine Briere is a Canadian photo journalist. She was the last photographer to visit East Timor before the Indonesian invasion of 1975. She subsequently became involved in the Timorese independence movement. She is the author of Testimony: Photographs of East Timor. Her film Bitter Paradise: The Sellout of East Timor, won Best Political Documentary at HOT DOCS!
