Gary Snyder
Gary Snyder is a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet. His interest in and study of Zen Buddhism is a major influence on his work. Lawrence Ferlinghetti, called Snyder, because of his rural background, as “the Thoreau of the Beat Generation.” He is the author of many books of poetry and prose including, The Back Country, Turtle Island, No Nature, and Mountains and Rivers Without End.
