Michael Hagopian

Michael Hagopian, an educational filmmaker, dedicated much of his life to promoting awareness of the Armenian Genocide. He interviewed hundreds of survivors and witnesses. He incorporated many of them into his films. He received two Emmy nominations for The Forgotten Genocide, the first full length documentary on the Armenian Genocide. His film The River Ran Red won multiple awards including Best Historical Documentary by the New York International Film and Video Festival. He taught at UCLA, Benares Hindu University and the American University of Beirut. He passed away in 2010.
