Anthony Herbert
Anthony Herbert was the most highly decorated enlisted man in the Korean War. In Vietnam, he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and commanded an airborne battalion. In 1969, he accused his superior officers of covering up war crimes. Fed up with being harassed, he retired from the Army in February 1972. He then wrote a book with New York Times journalist James T. Wooten, Soldier, recounting his life story. He died in 2014.
