Restoring the Planet
Part of the success of humans as a species can be attributed to the formation of social groups. These groups worked together & provided security & community for its members. Our society has largely become an entity that no longer nourishes the individual. The planet is now exploited & polluted for the financial gain of a few. Mechanisms to ensure that basic needs met are being dismantled. Most of us are shocked by much of what we see in society today. So how did we get here? People around the world from diverse cultures are turning away from what they see as the harmful new world order & turning again to sustainable communities. Frances Moore Lappe traveled the world, gathering stories of this movement.
Recorded at the University of Oregon.
