The Right-Wing Agenda in Congress
The Contract with America is warmed-over Reaganomics: cut taxes for the rich, increase military spending and balance the budget. Corporate interests are having a field day. Their lobbyists are writing the legislation which Congress enthusiastically passes. Social and environmental programs are being gutted. While assistance to the poor is slashed, corporate welfare continues unabated.
