The Future of Humanity
We are at a dangerous moment in human history. Philosopher and thinker David Korten says, “We stand at a crossroads between two possible futures. In one future, we continue on the path of separation and likely bring the human chapter of creation’s journey to an untimely end. In the other future, we find our rightful place as responsible, loving members of the Earth community in an ecological civilization, helping to guide creation’s journey into a future of harmony and new possibilities.” The choice could not be more profound. It is, in a real sense, a test of what it truly means to be human.

Just amazing. We are bombarded in the media with so many problems, yet rarley given solutions. A refreshing reminder for us continue to try to be a better “we” despite being surrounded by so much negativity.

I listened to this on my way home from work…. made me think hard about myself & how do i as a business owner break out of the “swirl”. It’s constant …more, more, more I am an indentured serf…what we are doing to our Mother Earth & ourselves cannot continue as he states & i am frustrated that i don’t have a good reason to break out of the cycle other than i wish i could …& yet, i must. It was OUTSTANDING & we are listening to at work as i write this.

Interesting. I’ll take Native Voices over those who work(ed) for USAID and Ford Foundation:

This was one of the best talks I’ve heard in a very long time! I want to share it with everyone I know.

David Korten’s talk was truly inspiring. Whenever I get depressed about all the horrific, hateful things currently going on in politics, I try to remember that some good things are also going on, which do not get much notice in the news. At the same time we seem to be going down spiritually from greed and hate, I remind myself about all the people who do believe in peace, love, equality, and justice, whose consciousness is rising, not falling. David Korten’s talk reminded me that I’m not the only one thinking about this. This is the hope I am clinging to. My only question is how bad does it have to get before our better selves can rise from the ashes? When will we be able to get together as one community of conscious beings who should be working together to take care of our Mother Earth?

An Anglo telling his people the TRUTH. May they be moved.
The Spanish knew this before coming to America, and why they came without spouses to mix with locals becoming one family.
Our survival depends upon a change, although I do not think we are going in that direction, most unfortunately.
